Intercollegiate Transfers (ICT)

Students currently enrolled in another UIUC undergraduate college who wish to be considered for admission to an Applied Health Sciences (AHS) undergraduate program are referred to as intercollegiate transfer (ICT) applicants.  ICT students are welcomed in the College of Applied Health Sciences.  Each Department under the College of AHS reserves the right to select those best qualified for admission, based on the academic record and on supporting materials that demonstrate a commitment to careers in the field. A minimum undergraduate GPA has been set by each department, but having the minimum GPA does not guarantee admission.  Factors considered for ICT admission include the completion of intercollegiate admission requirements of the AHS department and availability of space in the chosen program. Students must be in good academic standing (not on probation or drop status) to ICT into the College of Applied Health Sciences.

In the College of AHS, ICT applicants apply directly to the departments. Please speak with appropriate program of study to determine when ICT applications can be turned in for transfer. It is important to check with the department of interest as early as possible to ensure all departmental and college deadlines and requirements are met.

Before changing colleges, freshmen students are required to complete at least one year in the college to which they were admitted; transfer students are required to complete at least one semester. Each department recommends that before applying, potential students take courses within their area of interest.

Application to a program of study does not automatically guarantee that your application will be reviewed.  The number of students that a department can admit changes each term.  There are some ICT periods where program of studies are closed. The minimum GPA is just a target point. In some cases, students may not get admitted with that minimum GPA.  There will be times when the College of AHS will hold your application for a current semester until grades are posted. Your reply will be emailed or a letter will be sent to you after the decision is made.
