AHS Student Career Development & Leadership Awards Program
This program is designed to provide funding opportunities to AHS students for the following extracurricular experiences:
- Professional Organizations (up to $75.00): Join a professional organization as a student! Often you will receive e-mails, journals, and career resources specially designed for interested students.
- Conference Travel (up to $250.00): Travel to a professional conference in your field of study.
- Study Abroad ($500.00): If you are planning to stay abroad, this award can help defray the costs associated with your travel and educational experience. You may apply for the scholarship the semester of, or one semester before your study abroad experience.
- Leadershape (campus leadership program, paid in full): This unique, weeklong, intensive leadership training program is ideal for students who want to learn new skills, meet new people, and develop personal and professional leadership abilities during the undergraduate experience.
Students must meet the following criteria in order to be eligible to receive an award:
- Current undergraduate in AHS
- In good academic standing
- Funding requests must be related to current field of study
- Completion of all application materials
- Current resume either emailed to Kathy Runck or hand in person to Kathy
in room 220 Huff Hall.

Award Application forms
Deadline:
Wednesday, February 27th, 2008. All applications will be reviewed by a college committee. The committee will consider the following:
- Appropriateness related to field of study/major
- Demonstrated need
- Strength of personal statement
- Academic commitment
Students can not receive more than two awards in one academic year.
