More than 300 alumni, faculty, staff, and friends attended the College of Applied Health Sciences
50th Anniversary celebration during the weekend of October 26–28, 2007. Activities included
departmental open houses, a pre-game tailgate, wheelchair basketball, an anniversary gala, and

As we look forward to the challenges of the future, research is focused on improving health and well-being with college-wide research initiatives in the areas of aging and disability.
Center on Health, Aging, and DisabilityThe new Center is dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of health, aging, and disability. Teams of researchers from across the University and peer institutions will research healthy aging, individual empowerment across the lifespan, and independent living and full participation of older adults and persons with disabilities. The Center will provide a focal point, support structure, and catalyst for those interdisciplinary efforts, thereby intensifying their impact.
The Speech-Language Pathology Clinic clinic has moved to a new location in Research Park where
it shares facilities with the Chesterbrook Academy. In addition to the services already provided,
the conveniently-located, state-of-the-art site will facilitate best practice in the area of
speech-language therapy for adults and children through:
