Dear Parents and Family Members:
We are pleased and excited to welcome you and your son or daughter to The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the College of Applied Health Sciences (AHS) community. This is an exciting time for all! As a new student, your son or daughter embarks on an enriching educational journey. We will equip your son or daughter with the tools needed to succeed, empower, and impact change in their future career goals. As a community, AHS strives to create meaningful programs and events that will encourage new ways of thinking in and outside of the classroom through student centered programming and meaningful relationships. We are excited that you have selected the College of Applied Health Sciences and want to involve and inform you, since we have a common goal---student personal and educational success.
In effort to assist with the transition and information process, we have created a parent resource website. Included on this site is information about university events and activities, opportunities for involvement and important dates, resources referral page, and a question/feedback link. In addition, there will also be monthly parent newsletters centered around issues pertaining to parents of AHS students on the site…just a way to keep you informed and updated on recent events and adjustments. In addition, the UIUC Parent Programs Website is another great source for parent information and involvement. Within their site you will see campus wide issues within their newsletters as well as a chance to join the Mothers Association and Dads Association.
Finally, we encourage you to participate in the university and local events as well---especially the College of AHS events! We look forward to your involvement in the months ahead. Once again, welcome to the UIUC and AHS family!
