The College of Applied Health Sciences is pleased and excited to introduce the AHS faculty website. As a community, we strive to create and implement programs and events that will encourage new ways of thinking in and outside of the classroom through student centered programming and meaningful relationships. Whether advisors or faculty, we all have a common goal: student personal and educational success.
In effort to assist with the information process, we have created a faculty resource website. Through the monthly newsletters, you will be provided with opportunities for involvement and important dates, student programs, and important deadlines. If you have comments, questions, or suggestions please send email to the advisors listed in the sidebar. It is through this website that we hope to keep you connected to some of the College of AHS resources and new initiatives.
One of the initiatives within the College is the tutoring program. The College of AHS, in partnership with the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA) has recruited AHS high-achieving students to tutor undergraduates within departmental courses. "Drop-In" hours are available: 7:00PM–10:00PM, every Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday in room 114, Huff Hall. Please see flier for details on courses available for tutoring.
Another great initiative is the Mannie L. Jackson Illinois Academic Enrichment and Leadership Program. Take a minute to look over the website, http://www.ahs.uiuc.edu/ILEAP, and familiarize yourself with this great new program! Questions on this program can be directed to Sheri Shaw, Director, and Kirkshinta Turnipseed, Academic Skills Specialist.
